Universal Beijing
Universal’s Most Technologically Advanced Park
Opened in 2021, Universal Beijing Resort is the newest and largest Universal park in Asia. Located in Tongzhou District, Beijing, it represents Universal’s most ambitious international expansion to date.
For American visitors, Universal Beijing offers familiar Hollywood IP on a massive, modern scale —with cutting-edge ride systems and large-format land design.
Location & Scale
Located in eastern Beijing, about 40–60 minutes from central districts. The resort covers approximately 1,000 acres, including Universal Studios Beijing, CityWalk, and two on-site hotels.
Jurassic World Isla Nublar
Based on the modern Jurassic World films rather than the original park.
Jurassic World Adventure
Features advanced animatronics, large-scale screens, and a dramatic indoor drop sequence. Widely considered one of Universal’s most technologically sophisticated dark rides.
Kung Fu Panda Land of Awesomeness
Unique to Beijing, this is a fully indoor land based on DreamWorks’ Kung Fu Panda franchise.
Transformers & Harry Potter
Transformers Metrobase
Includes Decepticoaster (high-speed launch) and an enhanced Battle for the AllSpark with upgraded motion systems.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
A full-scale recreation of Hogsmeade and Hogwarts, benefiting from newer infrastructure and better crowd-flow planning than older parks.
Universal Beijing vs. U.S. Parks
| Universal Beijing | Universal Orlando/Hollywood |
|---|---|
| Newest infrastructure | Mix of legacy & modern |
| Larger land footprints | More condensed (Hollywood) |
| Indoor Kung Fu Panda land | No equivalent in U.S. |
| High-tech ride upgrades | Classic versions still operating |
Beijing feels newer, cleaner, and more master-planned.
