Baby Milo

Overview

Baby Milo (also stylized as BABY MILO® or BABYMILO) is one of the most beloved and enduring mascot characters in streetwear and designer toy culture, originating from the iconic Japanese brand A Bathing Ape (BAPE). Created in 1999 under the direction of BAPE founder Nigo and designed by artist Mankey, Baby Milo draws inspiration from the baby chimpanzee Milo in the Planet of the Apes film series. At a time when streetwear leaned toward gritty graffiti and bold logos, Baby Milo's adorable, wide-eyed baby ape design brought a rebellious cuteness that balanced BAPE's signature camo and shark motifs. Debuting primarily on apparel, he quickly expanded into plush toys, accessories, homeware, and high-end vinyl figures.
