Who is the main protagonist?

Hanamichi Sakuragi, a delinquent who joins the basketball team to impress a girl but falls in love with the sport.

What is Sakuragi's jersey number?

He wears jersey number 10. He originally wanted a different number but settled for 10.

Takenori Akagi, also known as 'Gori' due to his imposing appearance.

He suffered a knee injury during his first year and fell into depression and delinquency, but later returned to the team.

Kaede Rukawa, the super rookie whom Sakuragi considers his rival in both basketball and love (since Haruko likes Rukawa).

'The First Slam Dunk' is a 3D animated movie directed by Takehiko Inoue, focusing on Ryota Miyagi's perspective and the match against Sannoh.

They defeated the defending champions Sannoh Industrial in a legendary match but were eliminated in the third round due to exhaustion.

Mitsuyoshi Anzai, a former strict college coach who is now calm and known as the 'White-Haired Buddha'.

He plays Power Forward and is known as the 'King of Rebounds'.

It is fictional, but it draws heavy inspiration from the NBA (especially the 90s era) and realistic basketball mechanics.
