What type of game is Destiny?

Destiny is a shared-world first-person shooter that blends elements of role-playing games (RPG) and massively multiplayer online (MMO) games. Players explore a sci-fi universe, complete quests, and engage in both cooperative (PvE) and competitive (PvP) modes.

Who are the Guardians in Destiny?

Guardians are resurrected warriors chosen by the Traveler to wield the Light. They are the protectors of humanity's Last City, tasked with defending the solar system against various alien threats and the encroaching Darkness.

What are the three main character classes?

The three classes are: Titans (armored frontline warriors who prioritize defense and strength), Hunters (agile scouts and sharpshooters who focus on mobility and precision), and Warlocks (scholars of the arcane who wield powerful space magic and recovery abilities).

What is the Light and Darkness saga?

The Light and Darkness saga is the overarching narrative arc of the Destiny franchise, spanning from the first game through Destiny 2's major expansions. It chronicles the cosmic conflict between the Traveler (Light) and the Witness (Darkness) and humanity's struggle to survive in between.

Can I play Destiny solo?

Yes, much of Destiny's story content, patrols, and lost sectors can be played solo. However, end-game activities like Raids, Dungeons, and high-level Nightfalls are designed for fireteams and often require coordination with other players.

What is the Traveler?

The Traveler is a massive, mysterious spherical entity that hovers over the Last City. It is the source of the Ghosts and the Guardians' powers. It sacrificed itself to save humanity during the Collapse and remains a silent, benevolent god-like figure.

How does the loot system work in Destiny?

Players earn weapons and armor with randomized stats and perks by defeating enemies, completing activities, and decoding engrams. The rarity ranges from Common (white) to Exotic (gold), with Exotic items offering unique, game-changing abilities.

What are Raids in Destiny?

Raids are the pinnacle PvE activity in Destiny. They are long, complex missions for six players that require communication, puzzle-solving, and high-level combat skills to defeat massive bosses and earn exclusive rewards.

Is Destiny 2 free to play?

Destiny 2 follows a 'free-to-enter' model. The base game, including core playlist activities (Vanguard, Crucible, Gambit) and some introductory story content, is free. However, the latest campaigns, raids, and seasonal content require purchasing expansions and season passes.

Cayde-6 was the Hunter Vanguard and a fan-favorite character known for his wit and humor. His tragic death in the 'Forsaken' expansion was a major turning point in the story, motivating players to seek justice and darker paths.
