What is Black Panther about?

**Black Panther** follows **T'Challa**, the king of the hidden, technologically advanced African nation of **Wakanda**. As the **Black Panther**, he protects his people from internal and external threats, balancing his duties as a king with his role as a superhero.

Who is the Black Panther?

The **Black Panther** is a ceremonial title given to the chief of the Panther Tribe of Wakanda. While **T'Challa** is the most famous holder, the mantle is passed down (or won) through generations. The current Black Panther in the MCU (after T'Challa) is his sister, **Shuri**.

**Wakanda** is a fictional East African nation that is the most technologically advanced country on Earth. It secluded itself from the world to protect its supply of **Vibranium**, a powerful alien metal that powers their city, weapons, and suits.

**Vibranium** is a rare, extraterrestrial metallic ore found in Wakanda. It can absorb, store, and release massive amounts of kinetic energy. It is used to make the Black Panther's suit, Captain America's shield, and powers Wakanda's entire infrastructure.

In what order should I watch the Black Panther movies?

1. **Captain America: Civil War** (First MCU appearance) 2. **Black Panther** (First solo film) 3. **Avengers: Infinity War** 4. **Avengers: Endgame** 5. **Black Panther: Wakanda Forever** (Sequel)

Who are the Dora Milaje?

The **Dora Milaje** (translated as 'Adored Ones') are the all-female special forces of Wakanda who serve as the King's personal bodyguards. Led by General **Okoye**, they are elite warriors known for their skill with vibranium spears and unwavering loyalty to the throne.

What is 'Wakanda Forever'?

**'Wakanda Forever'** is the national salute of Wakanda (arms crossed over the chest). It became a global cultural symbol of black excellence, pride, and solidarity following the 2018 film's release.

Is Black Panther based on real African culture?

Yes! The creators and designers drew heavy inspiration from real African cultures. For example, the **Basotho** blankets (Lesotho), **Ndebele** neck rings (South Africa), **Himba** painting (Namibia), and **Mursi** lip plates (Ethiopia) all influenced the visual style of Wakanda.
