Why is the jungle toxic?

The Sea of Decay (Toxic Jungle) releases poisonous miasma into the air. However, Nausicaä discovers that the plants are actually purifying the polluted soil and water, crystallizing the toxins into wood and sand, leaving clean air and water underneath.

The Ohmu are gigantic, trilobite-like insects that guard the Sea of Decay. They are intelligent and possess a collective consciousness. Their eyes change color to reflect their emotions (blue for calm, red for rage).

Is Nausicaä a Disney movie?

No, it is a Studio Ghibli film directed by Hayao Miyazaki. However, Disney has distributed the film internationally in the past.

Is the manga different from the movie?

Yes, the movie covers roughly the first two volumes of the 7-volume manga. The manga delves much deeper into the war, the origins of the Sea of Decay, and the nature of the God Warriors, offering a more complex and darker story.
