What is the main plot of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure?

The series tells the multi-generational story of the Joestar family, whose members are destined to battle supernatural foes using their unique powers. Each part features a new protagonist nicknamed 'JoJo' and a different setting, genre, and villain.

What is the correct watch order for JoJo?

You should watch/read in chronological order: Part 1 (Phantom Blood), Part 2 (Battle Tendency), Part 3 (Stardust Crusaders), Part 4 (Diamond is Unbreakable), Part 5 (Golden Wind), and Part 6 (Stone Ocean). Parts 7, 8, and 9 are set in an alternate continuity.

What are 'Stands' in JoJo?

Introduced in Part 3, a 'Stand' is a visual manifestation of a person's life energy. They stand by their user and possess unique supernatural abilities, ranging from super strength to time manipulation. They replaced the earlier 'Hamon' (Ripple) power system.

Why is the art style so unique?

Creator Hirohiko Araki is heavily influenced by classical sculpture, Western fashion magazines, and Renaissance art. The characters are known for their flamboyant fashion and dramatic, physically impossible 'JoJo Poses'.

Are the music references intentional?

Yes, Araki loves Western rock and pop music. Almost all characters and Stands are named after bands, songs, or albums (e.g., Dio, Speedwagon, Killer Queen, King Crimson, Made in Heaven).

Who is the creator of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure?

The series is written and illustrated by Hirohiko Araki. It has been serialized since 1987, making it one of the longest-running manga series.

Who is the most popular JoJo?

It varies by region, but Jotaro Kujo (Part 3) is often the most recognizable due to his iconic hat and 'Star Platinum' Stand. Giorno Giovanna (Part 5) and Joseph Joestar (Part 2) are also fan favorites.

What is the 'JoJo Reference' meme?

Because JoJo is so influential and stylized, fans jokingly claim everything is a 'JoJo reference', from breathing (Hamon) to posing. The show's unique dialogue and sound effects (like 'Menacing' or 'Ora Ora') are internet staples.

Where can I watch JoJo's Bizarre Adventure?

The anime is available on Netflix (which holds exclusive rights to Stone Ocean), Crunchyroll, and Hulu. The manga is published by VIZ Media in English.

Why is JoJo rated for mature audiences?

The series contains significant graphic violence, body horror, gore, and sometimes sexual themes. It shifted from a Shonen (teen boy) to Seinen (adult men) magazine later in its run.
